I'm Sheri Clark, PhD
I am a EDMR Certified Therapist and my specialties include:
Anxiety, Trauma, PTSD, Attachment, Couples and Relationship Issues
Have you ever had a “how did I get here” moment in your life… the kind where you looked up one day and felt that you barely recognized that person staring back at you in the mirror?
What about the kind of moment where you looked around at the elements of your life and it didn’t seem like what you thought it would be?
There is a great deal of attention in the world today on achieving authenticity, finding gratitude and achieving inner peace.
However, what exactly happens when we begin to make choices towards our “best selves,” making movement towards our goals, and becoming our best selves?
How do we stop being on “auto-pilot” with our automatic thoughts, habits or patterns that leave us drifting back to the old behaviors we established long ago that no longer benefit us?
For that matter, how are the important others in our lives impacted when we begin making changes? Since we do not live in a vacuum, it invariably impacts those around us when we begin to make choices that benefit us. Sometimes the changes are for the “global good” for everyone in our lives. But will our loved ones support our desired changed? Resist it? Resent it?
What’s a person to do?

Clinical Approach and Therapeutic Modalities Employed
Dr. Clark recognizes that there are no “cookie cutter approaches” to address all challenges in life with every unique individual and as a result, uses a variety of approaches in working with clients to meet their goals. She seeks to understand the impact of a client’s life experiences, family history, personality, values, etc. on their development and relationships with others.
Her primary theoretical orientations are attachment-based therapies (insight-oriented) which include exploring a person’s earlier life, childhood and family of origin to better understand how they viewed the world – made sense of things from a child-perspective with limited information.

Occasionally, people have difficulty identifying what they want to change in their lives or even if they should change anything. Therapy with a trained professional can assist a person in exploring the key aspects of their lives. Sometimes people simply need a safe outlet to explore the challenges and other times, people wish to either change habits or to lessen the impact of past experiences in their lives.
